Project Beauty Expo seeks to change the standard of how multicultural women are represented in the beauty industry. Created by Brittany Brown, Project Beauty Expo provides a platform for women to connect with Indie Brand Founders, network with bloggers and beauty enthusiasts, support future artisans and educate women in beauty, wellness and style. PBE is a unique event because instead of inviting expensive mainstream brand names, they invite smaller, less well known brands. So of course, we were there to contribute to the fun.
Our booth was up and running for the duration of the event. Brand creators, bloggers, guests — everyone enjoyed being able to be the center of attention. Instead of standing in the middle of the expo taking selfies, our photo booth created a perfect space for snapping cute pictures with friends.
The expo was held at The Loft in downtown DC where guests got to shop directly from the different brands in attendance. There were only a handful of brands there, making it much easier to browse without becoming too overwhelmed.
Networking
There were also panels of brand owners and bloggers. These women shared their knowledge of the beauty industry and how they succeeded in finding and profiting from their natural beauty. The panel also featured a Q&A, where guests were able to ask questions.
Finding what make YOU feel the most Beautiful
The entire event was centered around supporting women in the beauty industry. There are many large beauty expos held annually, but Project Beauty Expo is unique because they don’t adhere to the mainstream and the event was intimate because there were no big-name brands in attendance. This allowed guests to talk to and really work with the different artisans to find exactly what they wanted. The focus was on finding what style makes you feel the most beautiful, not whatever is the latest trend.
Our photo booth was a great way for bloggers and brands to take pictures with and become closer to their customers. This was also yet another opportunity for them to expand their brand by taking pictures with their products. Afterwards, many bloggers followed each other and became friends, making the event all the more special.
Snapping selfies is definitely not a rare site at events like Project Beauty Expo. However, sometimes stopping to take a selfie in the middle of the room can cause crowding, making it difficult to get around. That’s why this was one of those events that are perfect for a photo booth. Not only did it make the expo more exciting, it made it more fun! Everyone got the chance to let loose. Every so often bloggers and brand creators would migrate to the booth to take group shots together. The photos at the end of the night were beautiful and of course, posted all over social media and blogs. There was no fussing over filters or complicated camera settings, every picture came out perfect!
